AstonWeather (Brainstorm) unveils redesign to integrate data from AccuWeather
AccuWeather data can be represented in 2D, 3D and AR by AstonWeather (Brainstorm), a weather graphics solution that has been redesigned in preparation for the Spanish brand’s presence at NAB 2025 (6 – 9 April).
AstonWeather is a comprehensive solution that combines real-time 3D graphics, AR and state-of-the-art virtual sets from Brainstorm with a wide selection of weather data visualisation tools from AccuWeather, including interactive applications. Built on fully customisable and editable templates, the new version of AstonWeather now ‘continuously’ draws on AccuWeather data to generate dynamic 2D and 3D graphics in real time. These can also be displayed as augmented reality (AR) elements, allowing broadcasters to interact with immersive graphics on both real and virtual sets.
Brainstorm and AccuWeather have a long history of collaboration, dating back several decades, when Brainstorm’s eStudio rendering engine powered AccuWeather’s real-time data visualisations. This partnership, in Brainstorm’s words, created new industry standards for real-time data import, AR map visualisation and in-context animations. Now, NAB 2025 will be the big forum where the new chapter in the joint history of the two brands will be revealed.
