3D audio comes to TVN's UHD mobile units powered by Lawo

TVN Live Production has unveiled the TVN-Ü8UHD, an OB Truck built around Lawo’ s AoIP solutions designed to meet the demands of UHD productions with 3D audio.

这 TVN-Ü8UHD is built around Lawo’s IP infrastructure, managed through the VSM（虚拟工作室管理器） solution. The system integrates with the OB truck’s broadcast equipment and provides orchestration and control over the entire production network, simplifying 工作流程 和 minimising set-up time。

For the sound management of this OB truck with 39 workstations spread over 120 square metres, the TVN Live Production team has opted for Lawo’s mc²56 MkIII 和 mc²36 MkII consoles, ready to enable “precise and flexible” handling of 3D audio, whether in 杜比全景声 or other advanced audio formats.

这 mc²56 MkIII, with its fully redundant A__超高清 core, offers 1,024 DSP channels of processing power, providing ultra-low latency signal routing and real-time monitoring. This solution is complemented by the more compact but equally powerful mc²36 MkII, giving the TVN-Ü8UHD ‘exceptional flexibility and quality’ in audio mixing, from pre-production to final transmission.

A OB Truck optimised for 3D audio

The TVN-Ü8UHD also complies with new immersive audio standards, a frequent trend in top-tier sports productions. In this respect, Lawo’s mc²56 MkIII has been optimised for 杜比全景声 workflows and 3D audio, providing full support for 5.1.4 monitoring configuration.
