Sony unveils the new HXC-FZ90 4K studio camera
这 索尼 new HXC-FZ90 studio camera, with UHD capabilities, is aimed at broadcasters looking to take their first steps into 4K without giving up their current HD workflows.
Sony’s HXC-FZ90 is presented as an “affordable” solution ready to fit every “design and operational philosophy”. This statement translates into a device with 4K, HDR, HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and S-Log 3 capabilities that, while it can still bring quality to HD workflows today, can be used as needed in UHD contexts.
Norbert Paquet, head of live production at Sony Europe, said: “As production formats diversify according to projects, we are seeing more companies looking for a flexible way to switch at will between 4K, HD and HDR. They might still be producing most of their commissions in HD but know they need to future proof and want to be able to respond now to briefs with a 4K or HDR component”.
The HXC-FX90 camera is notable for offering a 2/3″ 4K CMOS sensor with B4 mount that enables 2000 TVL resolution, while its 4K capabilities are unlockable as a weekly license, monthly license or permanent feature. Other highlights include its Aria function, which automatically optimizes the image according to the characteristics of the lens; possible front panel operation of the CCU HXCU-FZ90 with iris or paint control functions; advanced focus assist function; its integration with CNA-2 web RCP control, which enables advanced monitoring; simplified cabling with prompter or PTZ cameras via Ethernet; and a stereo mini-jack connector for headphones.
This camera, which complements Sony’s 4K production solutions offering along with the MVS-G1 mixer and ILME-FR7 camera, will be available for sale by the end of 2023。
