Blackmagic - ATEM Constellation 8K - FIBA 3x3

Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Constellation 8K switcher was used by Stop and Go Production to produce the Paris Masters tournament, part of the FIBA 3×3 world tour.

Toulouse-based Stop and Go Production, which specialises in the production of sporting events, was tasked with broadcasting the first edition of the Paris Masters at the iconic Carreau du Temple. It did so from a mobile IP unit with 4K capabilities designed entirely by the company and equipped to accommodate four technicians. Olivier Gouze, part of Stop and Go, sees this type of deployment growing over the months: “Many sports don’t have television rights and instead choose to broadcast via their owned media platforms for a subscription fee, and they are turning to companies likes us for our expertise and help.”

Blackmagic - ATEM Constellation 8K - FIBA 3x3A key element of the workflow that Stop and Go deployed for this FIBA tournament was a Blackmagic ATEM Constellation 8K mixer, complemented by an ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel control unit: “We have been longtime fans of the ATEM switchers and decided early on in the design phase that the Constellation 8K would cover the vast majority of our needs. Nothing else in the market comes close to offering this sort of value for money. The user interface and accompanying control hardware make using and operating the production switcher incredibly straightforward. Not only that, but the hardware is also easy to learn and simplifies the training of our crews.”

The deployment designed for the FIBA 3×3 world tour was completed with nine cameras and an 电动汽车系统 system for slow motion replays. Once the signal was produced, it was sent from the mixer to an encoder and streamed on FIBA’s YouTube channel in 1080p. “We could also use additional SDI outputs on the ATEM to feed big screens in the venue, whether that was a dedicated camera angle or a slow motion replay,” remarks Gouze, who has been completely satisfied with the ATEM星座8K: “We are thrilled to have Blackmagic Design in our OB workflows as we continue to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. FIBA has been delighted with the results of this year’s collaboration, and we will be returning next year to film this stage again.”
