940 Panasonic broadcast cameras to be deployed for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
松下, official sponsor of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, will provide a total of 940 broadcast cameras for the event.
The Japanese firm, founded more than 100 years ago by Konosuke Matsushita, has stressed that the event will be a “key point for sport and technology at international level”. As a technology supplier to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, 松下 will provide an important selection of its solutions.
Mirko Scaletti, general manager of Panasonic Spain and Portugal, gives more details: “We will bring to the games all our technology and innovation, including 420 large format LED screens equivalent to a length of two soccer fields, 1,170 projectors and 940 broadcast cameras that will provide simultaneous playback to 220 countries and regions”.
Campaign with the IOC
In parallel, 松下 has confirmed that it is joining the International Olympic Committee for another year with the #StrongerTogether campaign, with the aim of building a better world through sport and its values. This initiative seeks to promote a message of solidarity and unity through sport focusing on the conviction that the world only progresses when moving forward in unison. The campaign video, launched in June this year, features world-renowned athletes such as Naomi Osaka, Panasonic’s ambassador.
It is through initiatives of this kind, associated with values linked to sport, that Panasonic reaffirms its commitment to sport and to society under its slogan “A Better Life, a Better World”.
