EVS NAB 2022

LiveCeption, MediaCeption, MediaInfra and MediaHub will be the focus of the ЕВС presence at МДС 2022 (9-12 September).

Stand A25 in Hall 10 принадлежащий Amsterdam RAI will be the location where ЕВС will demonstrate how its latest solutions enable “creative and efficient” replays, accelerate the media creation process and allow robust and flexible media infrastructures to be built in “any”production environment. It will be the first time the firm is showcasing its expanded product portfolio at IBC, as the show was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Among the most prominent solutions on display at the RAI will be MediaCeption, a tool for end-to-end live production asset management, enabling users to perform “all” the different functions of the media workflow in live or near-live productions. Built on a modular and open architecture platform, the solution provides advanced interoperability for broadcast infrastructures, currently integrating with more than 30 certified technology partners for the creation of seamless workflows from ingest to playout. Several of these integrations will be showcased, including with editing suites such as Adobe, Avid and Blackbird Video.

Other updates to the solution include ingest of additional video formats such as UHD XAVC Long GOP and SRT video streams when operating with the XS-NEO software-defined server.

EVS MediaHub at IBC 2022

The EVS stand will also feature the latest news from MediaHub, a cloud-based content distribution and sharing service platform that enables rights holders’ production teams to browse, trim, cull and deliver content from multiple camera angles and from multiple locations, using the platform’s web-based user interface.

Recently deployed at several international sporting events, and available in a SaaS offering, this solution is designed to support content owners in virtualising the physical infrastructure of an IBC and monetising their content, while preserving the “quality, reliability and ease of use” of on-premise deployments.

В то же время, MediaHub “ensures” that content takers and rights holders are more effective and efficient in their remote production workflows, enabling remote professional editing or the application of XtraMotion from a web browser.

MediaInfra at IBC 2022

MediaInfra, the newest pillar of solutions offered by EVS, will capture many of the attention on the EVS booth. Demonstrations of the MediaInfra Strada turnkey IP/SDI routing solution will show how production teams can perform critical routing and control operations in any environment. Built on an IP backbone and leveraging EVS’ Cerebrum and Neuron product lines, MediaInfra Strada offers a progressive and secure path to IP with continuous SDI support.

Other products on display from the MediaInfra portfolio include Neuron Compress, which offers real-time JPEG XS compression (now also in UHD with -7 and Class A/B/C/D support, making it suitable for long distance applications), as well as the award-winning Neuron Protect, which provides intelligent backup switching for fully redundant broadcast infrastructures.

The latest version of the головной мозг broadcast monitoring and control system (Cerebrum 2.3) introduces IP Core SDN licensing, which brings greater visibility and control to today’s increasingly complex IP production infrastructures. Visitors will be able to see the power of this solution in action, as it will control the entire media infrastructure on the EVS stand. In parallel, EVS will be demonstrating different ways to control a Cerebrum system via web interfaces, the LSM-VIA replay system’s touchscreen, as well as through a third-party system from Ридель that leverages IS-07.

LiveCeption debuts at IBC 2022

This will be the first time IBC attendees will be able to experience first-hand the new user experience offered by LSM-VIA, the backbone of EVS’ LiveCeption solution for efficient live productions, replays and highlights. On display at the Amsterdam RAI will be the latest updates to the EVS next-generation replay system, including support for ST2110-31 (Dolby/AC3) audio and new I/O configurations that allow for different super slow motion speeds in a single configuration.

Recent enhancements to the XNet-VIA media sharing network and innovative pre-replays will also be part of the demonstrations, including the multi-angle review feature as part of LSM-VIA, which allows operators to review multiple angles at the same time to create summaries more quickly.

Taking replays to another level, the new XtraMotion super slow motion service will focus much of the attention on the stand, where demonstrations will show how the on-demand service can transform footage from any camera into super slow motion replays using the power of AI and the cloud.

EVS and balanced computing

Solutions such as XtraMotion provide a tangible example to illustrate the EVS “balanced computing” of deploying the right combinations of hardware and software and dynamically managing their deployment in on-premises, cloud and edge environments. This approach provides greater efficiency and operational flexibility, while meeting customer needs in terms of speed, security and cost.

Unveiled for the first time at NAB 2022, EVS will further promote this “balanced computing” approach by showcasing additional use cases that customers can benefit from, including the ability to increase ingest channel capacity using the cloud.
