Hideaki Onishi becomes chairman and CEO of Christie
Кристи begins a new era with Hideaki Onishi as president and CEO. Onishi, who has been with Ushio (Christie’s parent company) for the past 30 years, will replace Kazuhisa Kamiyama.
Hideaki joined Ushio in 1989. Known for his strong sales aptitude, he has also continued to demonstrate impressive management skills throughout his career. He has extensive and wide-ranging experience in various positions, having worked at Ushio Lighting, Taiwan Ushio Lighting, Adtech Engineering, Ushio Asia Pacific (Singapore), Vietnam, Thailand и Ushio Europe. Among many highlights, Hideaki was tasked with managing the manufacturing and sales of the printed circuit board (PCB) display machines that Ushio acquired in its acquisition of ADTEC Engineering in 2012. Over the next five years, the business achieved a position of strength culminating in his appointment as president of Ushio Asia Pacific in 2016. Hideaki joins Christie from his previous role as president of Ushio Europe.
In his first statements as president and CEO of Christie, Onishi has emphasised that his goal is to “bring strong leadership and to honor principles of respect, transparency and integrity.” “I look forward to holding open conversations with all levels of the Christie team globally to learn more. I am excited for the journey ahead and Christie’s continued growth – it is an exciting time to be joining the company,” he adds.
Meanwhile, Kamiyama leaves Christie with a “sense of accomplishment and gratitude”. The outgoing president, who will take up a position at Ushio, thanked the firm’s team for their “hard work and dedication”: “We have overcome unprecedented adversity and prepared the company for a prosperous future. I leave knowing the company is in good hands with Hideaki.”
