Avid Media Composer Distributed Processing is now part of Enterprise subscriptions

In this way, editors can offload processor-intensive content creation workflow tasks to any available local computer, freeing up their editing workstations. This exciting feature of Avid software is included with subscriptions to Media Composer Enterprise software.

Distributed Processing encompasses a number of important functions such as transcoding, consolidation, rendering, mixing, and exporting. The flexibility of the Avid system allows multiple complex jobs to be set up to run in the background at any time, even overnight. Similarly, the system comes with a web-based control panel that allows users to track, modify, monitor, prioritize and filter jobs remotely.
