Lawo Home Apps Mc2 DSP

The new mc2 DSP application, which represents the latest evolution of Laos IP bet, allows users to process the sound of their productions through a software-based system running on standard CPUs with the same functions and audio quality as dedicated hardware.

After launching in 2021 Home, an on-premises or cloud-native solution for discovering, registering and securing devices from a unified platform, Deles undertook numerous initiatives aimed at optimizing the promising IP and hybrid world. A major focus of this development has been Aplicativos domésticos, applications that leverage Lawo’s IP core to facilitate processes such as multiviewer, graphics insertion or transcoding.

Lawo Home Apps Mc2 DSPNow, this ecosystem is growing to bring the full power and experience of Lawo audio processing through the new mc2 DSP application, which allows to create a dedicated audio processing core for all types of productions in just a few seconds. This processing technology, rebuilt from scratch to make it perfectly integrable with Lawo solutions, maintains the same workflow, mixing capabilities and tools such as Automix, audio-follows-video or kick; the only difference is that it can run on standard servers instead of traditional Lawo hardware solutions.

The system maintains the ability to manage thousands of signals and transport them through systems such as Ravenna, AES57 or ST 2110, but also adds new possibilities taken directly from the video world through the É ou SRT protocols. In parallel, the system stands out for its flexibility, as broadcast productions will be able to create different processing cores according to their production needs (either for scalable productions or as an emergency solution in the case of disaster recovery), as well as switch to using their traditional hardware-based systems whenever they deem it necessary.

Lawo’s new mc2 DSP app integrates with Flex, Lawo’s flexible business model that gives the user the possibility to have a limited number of redeemable credits that can be used to use different applications from the Home Apps ecosystem.
