TVU offers uninterrupted 25-hour coverage from remote mountain areas

The organization of the 2023 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, held in Innsbruck-Stubai (Austria), relied on TVU Networks‘ broadcasting solutions for a five-day coverage that peaked with a 25-hour long uninterrupted broadcast.

TVU Networks joined forces with the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships organization to bring this mountain and trail running competition to different audiences on TV, web and mobile platforms for five days. The challenge not only stems from the complexity of providing long-duration coverage, with a peak moment of 25 hours of uninterrupted broadcasting, but also from the difficulty of maintaining constant real-time coverage from the mountain trails, something that TVU itself says is often difficult “due to connectivity issues”.

TVU Networks facilitated the live production of the Championship with an extensive setup that included 10 TVU One dongles, 24 TVU Anywhere cell phone applications and the TVU RPS (Remote Production System). This dynamic set of IP and cloud solutions streamlined the broadcast process, responding to the diverse needs of such a large-scale event, as reflected in the vision of Benedikt Happe, producer and event director: “TVU played a pivotal role in the success of our first-ever live stream for this year’s world championship.
