Red Bull TV partners with Gravity Media to produce Crankworx mountain biking competition
Gravity Media, a provider of creative production services, has partnered with TV Red Bull, GTR Events and Boombox Group to bring Crankworx in Cairns to all mountain biking fans.
Crankworx, a four-day festival of international mountain bike racing and competition, originated in Whistler, British Columbia. Its success has led it to evolve into the Crankworx World Tour, a series of events taking place in Cairns, Innsbruck (Austria) and Rotorua (New Zealand).
Across five different courses and four days of competition, Gravity Media has used 52 different camera positions, satellite broadcast technology e up to 15 cameras, including special cameras and drones, to capture what is described as “the ultimate mountain experience in mountain biking.”
Gravity Media’s collaboration with GTR Events e Red Bull TV allows Crankworx Cairns to be broadcast around the world for the first time with a high-end broadcast production. Marcus Doherty, Gravity Media account executive, is delighted to have been able to be part of this milestone: “We were absolutely thrilled to once again align with GTR Events and work with Boombox on bringing Crankworx Cairns to a global audience. The Smithfield Downhill track in Cairns is one of the most brutal venues for a broadcast rig in Australia, and our team developed a unique fibre network that allowed brilliant camera coverage in areas where others have not been.”
