Disguise was part of the opening of Fuse | Stage42, a studio located in Times Square that features an extended reality environment from which disguise will research, develop, test and demonstrate new technologies. It will do so in partnership with Fuse, making it one of the first companies in the world to test disguise’s latest innovations. Ryan Middlemiss, director of media servers at Fuse Technical Group, highlights the benefits of the partnership with disguise: “Collaborating with disguise allows us to incorporate our own custom tools and workflows into a system that we have been using for the past 10+ years.” the other hand, Fernando Küfer, CEO of disguise, explains why the company has decided to embark on a new phase of deeper collaboration with Fuse: “As we forge ahead in realizing new realms of experience, such as the metaverse, we need the expertise of those who are able to bridge the gap between concept, technology and reality – so we can empower the next generation of technologists and creatives to redefine entertainment.”
The collaboration of disguise e Fuse dates back several years, when the technology solutions developer participated in one of U2‘s tours. Since then, Fuse has used disguise’s solutions in all kinds of projects and has served as a testing ground for key solutions such as xR, targeting NAB 2019. Simultaneously, Fuse has been able to count on disguise to help them support technical setups para large, innovative broadcast formats, concert tours and events. These include film productions such as Black Adam and Shazam; concerts and broadcasts for artists such as Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Kings of Leon, Doja Cat and Panic! At the Disco, as well as many other major broadcasts and events, including the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the MTV VMAs and Fortnite World Cup.
Going forward, Fuse will work closely with the disguise software and product developers to continue to shape the future of its technology, including areas such as SMPTE 2110 development and new workflows for the metaverse.
