Bond University - Carbonite - Ross Video

James Alexander, Bond University’s technical director, and Steven Guttormsen, director of technology and teaching support, have decided to push for the installation of a Vídeo Ross Carbonite switcher in the studio where their students train.

Bond University, founded in 1989, is Australia’s first private, not-for-profit university and is based in Robina, Queensland, on Australia’s famous Gold Coast. Its film and television degree offers numerous sessions from a three-camera studio, which has recently been renovated in collaboration with Vídeo Ross.

Among other solutions, Bond has chosen to invest in Ross solutions such as the Carbonita switcher and a TD2 panel that is controlled via Painel, a touchscreen control interface. As Alexander details: “Ross has become increasingly visible in our region and we were obviously aware of the Carbonite switcher because of its international popularity. Moving to a Ross-centric workflow makes a lot of sense for us because we’ll be looking to update our media asset management tools in future, and I can see a lot of value in us adding additional Ross solutions to our facilities.” Guttormsen, meanwhile, is pleased with how Ross handled the project: “The regional team here in Australia have been terrific. […] If anyone is thinking about partnering with Ross, I’d say go for it! You’ll get the best personal attention and support.”

Finalmente, Amanda Leighton, Ross – Oceania sales manager, welcomes the way the project has developed with Bond University: “It’s been tremendously rewarding to see the partnership between Ross Oceania staff and Bond staff and students in their adoption of the Carbonite production switcher. The ease-of-use of the Carbonite was an ideal fit for their application. We look forward to the continued relationship with Bond as they update and develop their production facility and workflow.”
