Somoy TV once again relies on TVU Networks to continue broadcasting from Bangladesh
TVU Anywhere, TVU Networks‘ content acquisition application, becomes part of Bangladeshi broadcaster Somoy TV’s workflow.
Known for its 24/7 coverage of breaking news, Somoy TV began using TVU Networks solutions in 2014 to strengthen its news engagement. Back then, the performance of TVU’s mobile transmitters and servers allowed them to forgo their planned purchase of a DSNG van. Now, Somoy TV has again expanded its fleet of news contribution equipment to expand the coverage area of its reporting.
Specifically, Somoy TV has adopted the TVU Anywhere mobile broadcast application. Among the latest additions to the app, we find integrated support for Center Stage, a new feature for iPad Pro models with M1 chip. This feature, which automates subject tracking, automatically recognizes the protagonist of the action. TVU Anywhere also features dual-camera support, being able to stream simultaneously from both front and rear cameras in a picture-in-picture or split-screen option. Content captured with TVU Anywhere can be sent directly to the cloud for production and distribution.
Ahmed Jobaer, managing director and CEO of Somoy TV, stresses that TVU is an “important partner” that helps them “enhance our live coverage” with “greater flexibility.” “TVU solutions deliver the lowest latency, fastest boot time and the best transmission quality,” he adds. On the other hand, Sushant Rai, vice president of sales for SAMEA at TVU Networks, confirms that “Somoy TV is a critical partner for us in Bangladesh.” “We are thrilled that our technology is able help fulfill the mission of this important organization,” he concludes.
