JVC launches new range of 4K and HD PTZ cameras with NDI and SRT support
Three PTZ robotic cameras, with 4K and HD capabilities, and compatible with É e SRT protocols, have been added to the portfolio of JVC.
Designed for PI content production and specifically for the coverage of sporting events and other live events, the JVC series features models KY-PZ400N (with 4K resolution) and KY-PZ200N (with HD resolution). Both cameras demonstrate their IP vocation by incorporating NDI|HX e SRT streaming protocols, use H.265/H.264 ou MJPEG signal compression, and allow multi-camera configurations with vertical interval time code (VITC).
There is a third camera option, the KY-PZ200, with HD resolution, which is a simplified version that does not include NDI®|HX functionality. All three models are available in black or white to better match production environments open to the public.
Wide range of protocols
In addition to the features listed above, all three JVC cameras include SRT, HTTP, RTSP e RTMP/RTMPS as well as other standard protocols. Focusing on the SRT protocol, the new PTZs will benefit from features such as Automatic Repeat Requests (ARQ) or Forward Error Correction (FEC), which avoids packet loss typically found in other systems. It also includes signal encryption to provide greater content protection.
On the other hand, JVC PTZ can manage VITC code with Network Time Protocol (NTP), facilitating the configuration of a multi-camera system for the production of live events. These features make it possible to optimize the mixing of various sources and broadcast content for concerts, television programs, sporting events and other live productions where synchronization is essential. The cameras can also be controlled via the RM-LP100 remote control panel and connected to a JVC IP production system such as Connected Cam Studio KM-IP6000/4000 or other IP production systems such as vMix, OBS. Estúdio e NewTek.
Available in late summer
Equipped with a 1/2.5″ 4K CMOS sensor with progressive scan, the KY-PZ400N model enjoys a wide angle of view (equivalent to 26.4mm on 35mm), minimum illumination of 0.5 lux and 12X optical/digital 16X zoom. The KY-PZ200N and KY-PZ200 use a 1/2.8″ HD CMOS sensor with progressive scan and a 20X optical zoom that reaches 606.9 mm (35 mm equivalent). All three cameras feature HDMI and 3G-SDI connectivity, RJ45 with PoE, RS232 and RS485.
The KY-PZ400N is expected to be available later this summer, while the KY-PZ200N and KY-PZ200 are scheduled to be available next fall.
John Kelly, JVC’s manager of professional business solutions, calls this new series of cameras a “milestone.” “This launch represents an important moment for the industry, for NDI and for JVC customers, who will now be able to enjoy the benefits and creative freedom of IP content with NDI,” he says.
