BIT Experience 2017: much more than just broadcasting
With Europe in its sights, the latest edition of this renowned professional event will take place on 4 and 5 October at Feria de Madrid with a revamped mission statement and offering a unique chance to do business in the audiovisual market and the new digital and multimedia world.
Top audiovisual professionals will meet head-to-head in Madrid at a new edition of BIT Experience. Organised by IFEMA, the event will be held on 4 and 5 October in the Feria de Madrid South Conference Centre.
After various editions which have defined it as an essential melting pot for executives and leaders, BIT Experience 2017 will be a unique opportunity to find out about the latest in technology applied to the audiovisual world. Its format structured into two days with plenty of open sessions and innumerable practical workshops will be aimed at giving value to the participating brands and offering all professionals key tips for taking strategic decisions.
This edition launches with a renewed outlook and a clear European calling that make it a unique opportunity for doing business in the audiovisual market and the new digital and multimedia environments. BIT Experience 2017 will therefore be introducing into its programme aspects that go well beyond traditional broadcasting and reach new professional targets that require a high-level meeting platform at which to discuss trends and find out where technology is heading.
María Valcarce, the Director of BIT and BIT Experience (IFEMA) emphasises that “this time, IFEMA is going one step further to position these workshops as a reference point for the industry at European level. To this end a collaboration agreement has been reached with Comunicare Digitale, the organisers of the prestigious European Digital Forum, that for the last fourteen editions has been uniting the top names in the European audiovisual industry in the city of Lucca in Tuscany. As a result of this agreement, Comunicare Digitale will be taking charge of the management and technical administration of BIT Experience. At the same time we will again be benefiting from the know-how of Panorama Audiovisual as Main Media Partner with a view to offering a bang up-to-date programme, of interest to the whole market”.
Transgressing the boundaries of broadcasting
The take-off of Ultra High Definition 4K and the impact of HDR, the emerging use of virtual and augmented reality, the impact of social networks on radio and television, the use of audiovisuals in dynamic advertising and digital signage, and the explosion in eSports are only a few of the foundations on which the programme will be based both in the talks and in the BIT Experience 2017 practical workshops.
The possibilities offered by the Cloud, new software-defined infrastructures and networks, ground-breaking IP-based production environments, the possibilities of de-centralised production, protection and security in the distribution of content, smart TVs, the impact of VOD and SVOD services on traditional media, the challenges of digital monetisation and the use of new technologies in the fields of capture, post-production, communications and infrastructures, storage, audio, automation and playout, are some of the other questions that will be tackled over these two days.
Without question, BIT Experience will be a must-attend event for anyone wishing to get ahead with the changes in technology, audiences and business models.
