ProSiebenSat.1 chooses Quicklink Studio to manage the video calls of its programming
Quicklink Studio (ST55) was the system of choice for ProSiebenSat.1Puls4-ATV, Austria’s largest commercial TV broadcaster with 4 channels Puls4, ATV, ATV2 and the news channel Puls24, to introduce guests via video calls into its various formats.
ProSiebenSat.1, which broadcasts news, entertainment programmes, films and series nationwide, needed a professional solution for introducing remote guests into its channel productions to replace its existing video call workflow. After researching the market, the Austrian broadcaster decided on Quicklink Studio (ST55), a tool that allows remote guests to be introduced into its real-time production workflows with professional broadcast outputs such as HD-SDI そして は using the Quicklink ST100, ST2102, ST208 and ST200。 ProsiebenSat.1 also benefits from Quicklink Manager, a product through which operators can manage virtual rooms and remote guest settings via a cloud-based web portal that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
の Quicklink Studio (ST55) solution works with a web browser, without the need for remote guests to install any applications or software. Guests can be invited from the Quicklink Manager via SMS, WhatsApp, email or by generating a simple URL link to be shared via any messaging medium. From Quicklink Manager, an operator can remotely control and configure all aspects of the remote guests’ device, including camera, microphone and speakerphone settings. Marko Trlin, broadcast systems engineer at ATV, welcomes the simplicity of the solution: “Moving from a client-based video call integration to a web-based one was done easy and very reliable.”
Using the assisted invitation feature, remote guests follow step-by-step instructions that ensure remote guests are pre-screened, fully prepared, configured and tested to enter a live environment. As part of the steps, remote guests are guided through enabling access to their camera/microphone, configuring their camera, microphone and speaker, and troubleshooting. The guest also makes a quick test call to check the status of their network and that they have the recommended upload speed: “It’s very comfortable to take over the control regarding audio and video settings for the interviewed person, so we can concentrate on the content and not how to get the remote hardware working,” Marko adds.
Additionally, the Carbon Calculator tool built into Quicklink Studio automatically calculates the amount of CO2 emissions avoided by contributing Quicklink solutions and is intuitively displayed for both the remote contributor and operators. Through intuitive reporting, ProsiebenSat.1 and other Quicklink Studio users can track their carbon savings in a simple interface, compare benchmarks and identify important levers for emission reductions over time.
