Blackmagic returns to NAB with new releases: DaVinci Resolve 18, Cloud Store, HyperDeck…
ブラックマジックデザイン will have a massive Blackmagic Design booth at NAB 2022 to showcase the company’s latest innovations: DaVinci Resolve version 18; the new Cloud Store, Cloud Store Mini and Cloud Pod storage and collaboration solutions; and the HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR and HyperDeck Shuttle HD recorders.
DaVinci Resolve 18 is now available to bring new collaborative processes through cloud workflows. With the latest version of the system, project libraries are hosted on the Blackmagic Cloud, so you can work on the same timeline simultaneously with other users from anywhere, while the new Blackmagic Proxy Generator application automatically creates lower resolution files linked to camera originals to speed up editing workflows.
This release also includes a host of other user-requested new features: improved project library functionality; a new mask that automatically recognises and tracks the movement of thousands of objects; a new depth map that generates a three-dimensional mask of a scene; a new tracker for tracking distorted surfaces; an improved beauty tool in the Resolve FX plug-in; subtitling enhancements; GPU-driven tweaks in Fusion; instant template playback; FlexBus conversion; and the ability to perform an improved immersive sound mix in ドルビー Atmos。
Cloud Store, Cloud Store Mini and Cloud Pod
Following a major trend in the post production market, Blackmagic has decided to go all in on remote collaboration with the launch of three products.
新しい Blackmagic Cloud Store is a networked storage solution with four 10G Ethernet connections and a parallel memory core that enables maximum data transfer speeds on each of the Ethernet ports simultaneously (at 40 Gb/s). In addition to being able to store footage, it is capable of processing Blackmagic RAW footage at 12K resolution with “zero latency”. The solution, available in 20TB, 80TB and 320TB versions, features high-performance RAID 5 flash memory, has USB-C ports for ingest and file backup, is capable of synchronising with Dropbox and includes an HDMI output for monitors。
の Cloud Store Mini, meanwhile, shares the features of its bigger brother but on a smaller scale. Again with 10G Ethernet connections, this time it structures its architecture around four M.2 flash drives in a RAID 0 configuration. This time, the Blackmagic solution only comes in an 8TB form factor, which enhances its portable nature.
Finally, the Cloud Pod is a solution that allows any USB-C drive to be used for network file storage. Again, Blackmagic’s creation includes a 10G Ethernet port, Dropbox sync and an HDMI output for monitors. The Cloud Store, Cloud Store Mini and Cloud Pod, by the way, require no licenses, subscriptions or user data tracking.
HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR
The slew of new announcements from Blackmagic Design is rounded out by the latest versions of HyperDeck, the tech’s flagship solution in terms of recording and playback.
新しい HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR model combines the reliability of the HyperDeck line with innovations such as H.265 compression, optional internal cache, three-dimensional conversion tables そして support for high dynamic range content. By recording 4K images in H.265 format, less storage space is required. In addition, the large touchscreen display allows for clear viewing of recorded footage and control of the device. By adding a HyperDeck Extreme Control unit, it is possible to turn it into a traditional professional recorder.
Other key features include uninterrupted recording to two CFast cards; 10G Ethernet connectivity for high-speed remote uploading; and the ability to record directly to ProRes 422HQ, ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 LT, enabling compatibility with software such as DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer, Premiere Pro そして Final Cut Pro。
HyperDeck Shuttle HD
Finally, Blackmagic Design has unveiled the HyperDeck Shuttle HD, a new desktop recorder and player. With a simple and accessible design, it offers the ability to process H.264, ProRes そして DNx files、 と PCM or AAC audio. In addition to traditional controls, this unit features a metal rotary knob for easy image search, and even an integrated teleprinter. This device, which can be connected with SD cards, UHS-II and external USB-C drives to store and playback recorded material, boasts HDMI connections (compatible with SD, HD 720 and HD 1080 resolutions) that make it the ideal complement to ATEM Mini mixers.
Beyond all these features, the HyperDeck Shuttle HD integrates the Blackmagic OS operating system, which provides instant start-up, image recording, audio metering, timecode and other data, network configuration, media management and is available in multiple languages.
