New York post-production company Goldcrest Post’s Studio A has been upgraded with new equipment to accommodate ドルビー Atmos soundtrack mixes.
This is not the company’s first room to be upgraded to embrace this format, as in 2018 Goldcrest renovated its Studio Q to accommodate all types of streaming, broadcast and home theater projects requiring Atmos sound.
Each of the two studios are equipped with two 熱心な S6 consoles supported by ProTools workstations, MADI routers, NEC 2K projectors and a Dolby Atmos mastering suite. Immersive monitoring includes a mix of JBL そして マイヤー Acheron studio speakers. In addition to Dolby Atmos Home Theater 7.1.4, the stages support Dolby 7.1 and 5.1 mixing. Engineer Bob Troeller elaborates: “The two rooms are similarly equipped and provide a consistent mixing environment. The workflows are designed for maximum efficiency. Each room has a dedicated Pro Tools recorder and Dell server running the Dolby Atmos Home Theater software. This allows all dialogue, music and sound effects deliverables to be recorded simultaneously which helps in streamlining the delivery process.”
Increased production
The upgrade to Dolby Atmos is part of Goldcrest’s plans to increase its sound and picture resources to keep pace with the increase in streaming and broadcast television production. As mixer Bob Chefalas notes, “We have a lot of great projects in-house and more on the way. We believe that demand for Atmos delivery will continue to rise, and we are ready for it.”
Over the past few years, Goldcrest Post has worked on several projects for Dolby Atmos, including the HBO series Gossip Girl、 Netflix fiction The Queen’s Gambit, or the Apple TV+ documentaries Who Are You, Charlie Brown? そして Dads。
