Grass Valley showcases value-oriented live production portfolio at IBC 2017
The powerful and compact GV Korona K-Frame V-series, GV Matrix and Focus 75 Live provide value without compromising performance.
Recognizing that each broadcast operation has its own unique requirements and limitations, グラスバレー offers a Value Production portfolio that provides superior value, offering an innovative combination of power, performance and functionality without the compromises that are typically required in cost-efficient solutions. At IBC 2017, Grass Valley will showcase the K-Frame V-series production switcher, GV Korona 1, 2 and 3M/E switcher panels, GV Matrix router and Focus 75 Live camera in its Value Series demo, allowing customers to see firsthand how some of their biggest challenges have been addressed in products that offer outstanding performance at a budget friendly price.
“Broadcast production solutions can be complex and expensive. These solutions, while necessary to create the high-quality content consumers expect, are often too expensive for certain applications on tight budgets,” said Mark Hilton, vice president of live production, Grass Valley. “Finding powerful solutions from market leaders that don’t break the bank and compromise critical functionality has been a challenge for customers—until now. With our Value Production portfolio, customers are now able to access the highest levels of innovation and performance Grass Valley is known for in a set of products at very competitive pricing.”
The K-Frame V-series, making its European debut at IBC, is the first production switcher that is simultaneously powerful, compact and budget conscious. The K-Frame V-series is modular for easy field reconfiguration and serviceability, as well as easy upgradability to an all IP or mixed SDI and IP environment in the future. The 36×18 matrix supports SD, HD and 4K UHD in quad split and 2SI modes and can handle up to three licensed M/Es and two additional video processing engines (VPEs) for added keying and mixing power. At only 3RU, this new frame is an ideal complement to the GV Korona switcher panel, including the latest GV Korona 3-stripe (3M/E). The 3-stripe panel retains the key features that the GV Korona is known for with the multi-touch menu system and touchscreens in all transition areas, and now offers an additional stripe each with 25 source select buttons.
Also part of the Value Production portfolio, the Focus 75 Live camera is designed and built with fully digital Xensium FT CMOS imagers, which means the camera doesn’t produce any of the rolling shutter artifacts seen with other CMOS-based cameras. To provide even stronger image performance, the camera captures in full 1920×1080 HD resolution and is user-switchable, allowing the user to quickly convert to either 1080i or 720p. To top it off, Focus 75 Live cameras offer best-in-class performance for all 1.5G HD standards and a user-friendly feature set for ease and efficiency of use in any production environment. At IBC 2017, Grass Valley will introduce a new video processing engine for the Focus 75 Live, marking a true boost in performance.
GV Matrix, another of the live production solutions to be showcased at IBC, offers the most space efficient (4RU) platform for clean and quiet SD/HD/3G SDI routing with integrated processing, including Kaleido multiviewing for live production, playout and general purpose infrastructure. GV Matrix fits up to 144 inputs and 144 outputs in a compact frame and supports discrete audio routing, including de-embedding and re-embedding of audio signals from embedded sources or MADI I/O with V-fade audio capabilities. This ensures quiet audio transitions by removing the presence of unpleasant “pops” when audio channels are switched.
Solutions in the Value Production portfolio are appropriate for a variety of applications, but are particularly well suited for environments such as small studios, outside broadcasters, rental and staging companies, universities, arenas, stadiums and houses of worship.
