View Master si affida a Riedel per i processi critici del suo nuovo OB UHD5
MicroN UHD, Artist-1024, SmartPanel and Bolero are some of the Riedel highlights that are part of UHD5, the latest OB truck created by View Master Events and Live Productions in collaboration with Telmaco to service the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).
Since its opening in 2016, the multifunctional SNFCC complex, which houses the Greek National Opera, the National Library of Greece, the extensive Stavros Niarchos Park e un opera hall with an alternative stage, outdoor stages and conference rooms, has been using Riedel’s MediorNet Compact stage boxes. The distributed MediorNet system functions as a distributed audiovisual signal routing backbone for seamless distribution of video, audio, data and communications signals throughout the venue’s various spaces.
Now, leveraging its extensive experience in film and event production, View Master Events has formed a joint venture with Live Productions to create the state-of-the-art UHD5 mobile unit. SNFCC will continue to use stage boxes spread across its infrastructure, but will now be able to integrate more easily with its production technology. This will reduce cabling, improve system stability and provide greater versatility in signal routing. “Our new UHD HDR OB truck provides unprecedented production flexibility, with new, powerful capabilities to produce broadcasts from small shows to massive multisport events,” said John Zarganis, technical and production director of View Master Events and Live Production.
During its tours, primarily in Greece, the rest of Europe and Turkey, the MicroN UHD devices in the mobile unit will enable View Master Events to handle a wide range of video formats, including 4K/UHD signals. This ability to handle different signal types and formats is expected to streamline workflows and reduce the need for additional peripheral devices. Additionally, Riedel’s SmartPanels offer an intuitive user interface to control various aspects of production in this ecosystem poised to evolve, as Zarganis says, in the future: “A future expansion of our MediorNet system with Riedel’s new MediorNet HorizoN will further future-proof our production infrastructure, paving the way to IP workflows.”
Ismet Bozkurt, senior regional sales manager Eastern Europe at Riedel, also appreciates the leap forward SNFCC has taken with its new mobile unit: “We are proud to continue supporting View Master Events in delivering exceptional experiences for a wide range of cultural, educational, and sports events at the SNFCC. This collaboration not only enhances the production capabilities at one of Athens’ most iconic venues but also underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of the live production industry.”
