Nine upgrades IP studios with Lawo mc2 36 MkII console
Professional Audio & Television has integrated the Il loro mc²36MkII 32-fader console into the ST2110 IP studios of Australia’s Nine television.
The new console, which was added to the existing audio infrastructure, was chosen for its native SMPTE2110-30 capabilities, among other features. A group of Nove reti delegates conducted a detailed evaluation of the Lawo latest mc² console offering at PAT’s demonstration facility in Sydney and finally settled on the mc²36 MkII.
The new mc²36 aims to completely redefine what a compact mixing console should offer. This all-in-one console features twice as many DSP channels as its predecessor, at both 48 kHz E 96 kHz, and is compatible with most standards. Powered by the latest generation of the Lawo A__UHD Core software-defined processing technology, the mc²36 is “fully equipped” to handle any type of application and provides operational ease for all types of production scenarios.
Patrick Salloch, managing director of PAT, explains how the new mc²36 seeks to deepen IP applications while facilitating the user experience: “This is the first Lawo mc² console based on Lawo’s native IP control called HOME, an intuitive easy to use web GUI which simplifies the AoIP experience for the user. We are delighted and honored that Nine have chosen Lawo technology again to expand on their already impressive Lawo video processing, Multiviewer and control solutions at 1D Street. To have been able to provide an mc² console to this world class facility is certainly the icing on the cake for us.”
