NDI reduces latency through new NDI|HX 3 standard
The new NDI|HX 3 standard, created by È itself (part of the Vizrt Group), aims to offer NDI users higher quality and lower bandwidth.
NDI|HX 3 enables low latency transmission with reduced bandwidth, while maintaining the lossless visual standards demanded by NDI users. This optimisation of the standard allows users to deliver broadcast quality video in any environment “without the need to upgrade their equipment” The new standard enables similar latency to the E larghezza di banda elevata standard, but using only “a fraction of the bandwidth”.
In addition, as Vizrt Group points out, the integration of NDI|HX3 requires “little engineering effort” for existing manufacturers to immediately start taking advantage of its benefits. Software such as NewTek TriCaster, Vizrt Vectar Plus O vMix will not require any upgrades to support NDI|HX3.
Michael Namatinia, president of NDI, praises the new standard: “The diverse ways in which NDI partners and users apply the standard, integrating it into countless workflows, products and projects never cease to amaze us. To keep up with the demand from the market in leveraging NDI technology, and to enable limitless content creation for any user, our team is committed to consistent innovation to push the boundaries of moving video. NDI®|HX3 is a shining example of that commitment as it strikes the perfect balance of quality and efficiency with zero compromises to set a new standard in visual storytelling.”
