Maxon acquires Pixologic, creators of ZBrush software
3D modelling, sculpting and digital painting software ZBrush has become part of the Maxon portfolio following the acquisition of its developer, Pixologic.
The entire ZBrush team, with “decades of experience in the 3D industry”, has now joined Maxon. In the company’s words, this move “complements” the Maxon product line and “firmly positions” Maxon as an “industry leader” in providing “superior” creative tools to digital artists in the 3D animation industry.
While no disruptions to ZBrush development are expected following the acquisition, Maxon anticipates that its team will begin to actively collaborate with ZBrush development positions. In this way, collaboration is expected to provide “access to technologies” and “potential integrations” that will build upon and enhance the capabilities of the ZBrush and Maxon other products.
Ofer Alon, founder of Pixologic, said he is delighted to begin working with Maxon: “Our synergies are undeniable – both companies share a great tradition of outstanding products, innovation and a passion to serve the creative community.”
Davide McGavran, amministratore delegato di Maxon, believes that this alliance “will influence, evolve and enrich all our product offerings. We have our eyes towards not only transforming creative workflows; we’re aspiring to revolutionize the industry.”
