Vinten FHR-155E

IL Vinten FHR-155E, a robotic pan and tilt head designed to support full-size television cameras and lenses, is now available.

With a maximum load capacity of 90 kg/200 lb, IL FHR-155E combines “sophisticated” software with a mechanical system that allows for “precise, smooth and quiet” camera movements on location, but also in studios.

Designed to military specifications for use in desert conditions, the IP65-rated FHR-155E is insulated against extreme temperatures with an operating range of 4°C to 50°C, and features a remote-controlled wiper with optional jet wash for a clear field of view. Its weatherproof housing is pressurized to prevent dust ingress and is available with an optional chiller module that is independently regulated by an internal thermostatic control to maintain an optimum and constant operating temperature.

The Vinten FHR-155E features Connettività IP, enabling camera operators to perform “intuitive and smooth” pan and tilt movements remotely using the Vinten HD-VRC control system. The FHR-155E features a pan range of 359° and a tilt range of ±30° (±179° with the support arm extended).

The FHR-155E is already being used for various outdoor projects in both the Arabian Peninsula E North Africa. Vinten plans for the system to be used, among other uses, to manage weather cameras, inaccessible areas of sports stadiums or religious events.

Neil Gardner, the Vinten global product manager for robotics and automation, lists the key benefits of the FHR-155E: “As the latest addition to our popular FHR range of robotic heads, the FHR-155E shares a pedigree with long line of class-leading robotic pan and tilt heads from Vinten. This solution delivers broadcast quality production values to remote locations outside of a studio with outstanding protection from the environment, Whether the environmental challenge is heat, cold, dust or rain, The FHR-155E consistently delivers the smooth camera and lens motion control necessary for high-quality broadcast output.”
