AWS Elemental Link UHD

AWS Elemental Link UHD, the latest high-efficiency encoder from Servizi Web di Amazon, is now available.

AWS Elemental Link UHD seeks to make it “simple and cost-effective” to connect a live Ultra High Definition (UHD) video source, such as a camera or other video production equipment, to AWS Elemental MediaLive for video processing in the AWS Cloud. Beyond the basic functions that can accompany such an encoder, Link UHD is capable of creating HDR 10 and HLG channels, and “sending” them to MediaLive for content to be streamed.

All AWS Elemental Link devices work with AWS Elemental MediaLive, which is part of AWS.

SDI or HDMI sources

AWS Elemental Link UHD, which features HEVC encoding for transmissions up to 2160p at 60 fps with 10-bit color depth, has already been used by players such as GLO, Sherpa Digital, MediaKnit, Blaze Streaming Media, Streamly, ioio.tv E Spiritland Productions.

Among its main strengths is its ease of implementation. Link UHD E Link HD devices are shipped configured to the user’s AWS account, and can be remotely controlled and monitored via the MediaLive console. According to Amazon, users “simply connect the device to power, an IP network, and an SDI or HDMI video source, and the video is automatically accessible on the MediaLive console in less than a minute.”
