Christophe Goossens becomes CEO of BCE
RTL Luxembourg CEO Christophe Goossens has been appointed CEO of technical services provider Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE).
Goossens, who will retain his position at RTL Luxembourg, will manage and oversee both Luxembourg companies simultaneously. BCE has also announced that Frederic Lemaire, the former CEO of BCE, is moving into two positions: chief operating officer (COO) of BCE and chief financial officer (CFO) of RTK Luxembourg.
Christophe Goossens, a graduate in economics and finance from the ICHEC school in Brussels, joined RTL Luxembourg in April 2007 as director of the station and director of Luxradio (Eldoradio). Just five years later, he was promoted to the position of director of RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg. In October 2016, he became chief operating officer of RTL Luxembourg and, since January 2017, he held the position of CEO of RTL Luxembourg. Prior to joining RTL, he was a partner at Luxembourg-based mobile messaging and micropayments service provider Mpulse and held various positions at telecom operator Tango, also based in Luxembourg.
Elmar Heggen, chief operating officer and deputy CEO of RTL Group, details the keys to the appointment: “Christophe Goossens has shown strong leadership skills in transforming RTL Luxembourg into a fully integrated media company across TV, radio, streaming and online. At the same time, he has enriched RTL Luxembourg’s news offering and strengthened the company’s editorial independence. His entrepreneurial spirit, digital mindset and strong network will be key to enhance BCE’s market position as a leading technical service provider – both in Luxembourg and across Europe. I am delighted that Frederic Lemaire will continue to serve in the executive management of BCE and will also contribute his experience and financial expertise to the further development of RTL Luxembourg. I thank Christophe Goossens and Frederic Lemaire for their achievements and dedication, wish them the best of success in their new positions and look forward to continuing our close collaboration.”
