Malaga is once again the world’s UHD hub as it hosts the 7th 4K-HDR Summit
Once again, Malaga is the world center of Ultra High Definition (UHD) in television on the occasion of the seventh edition of the 4K-HDR Summit, which starts on Monday November 15 at the Polo Nacional de Contenidos Digitales of Tabacalera in Malaga (Spain).
The 4K-HDR Summit, organized by Événements médiatiques à Médine avec Panorama Audiovisuel as media partner, is the most important event worldwide on Ultra High Definition (UHD) and brings together every year the best engineers and producers in order to share experiences and advances.
This event will be held in 2021 in hybrid format, with an opening day in person et four virtual ones, raising from three to five days the agenda of the only event that, due to its prestige, manages to bring together every year the heads of the three global associations of 4K and 8K: the UHD Alliance, le Ultra HD Forum et le 8K Association.
The event, which has been held since 2017 at the Polo de Contenidos Digitales in Malaga, except for the first two editions in Seville, also hosts the first Assembly of the Spanish association UHD Espagne and the presentation of the White Paper on Ultra High Definition in Spain, among other novelties.
Presentation of 4K-HDR Summit
The councillor for innovation and urban digitalization of the City of Malaga, Susana Carillo, and the organizer of the 4K-HDR Summit, Ricardo Medina have presented the program of activities at a press conference.
Multinationals, professionals and speakers from countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Romania, India, Finland, Mexico and Colombia will participate in the 4K-HDR Summit. Multinationals from the United States (Dolby), Japan (Canon), United Kingdom (Synamedia), Finland (Nokia), India (Travel XP 4K HDR), Turkey (Vestel), Germany (Fraunhofer et Rohde & Schwarz) and France (Ateme, Eutelsat, The Explorers, Paramax et Saint Thomas) will participate.
In addition, top technology companies such as Cellnex, Hispasat, Tedial, Axion, as well as production companies and television channels such as RTVE, Canal Sur et Movistar+ will be present from the Spanish side. NASA, the production company of the International Olympic Committee, the British BBC and the Japanese NHK, among others, complete an agenda with more than 40 presentations that this year has a strong Spanish accent, especially due to the constitution of the UHD Spain association on January 26th in Madrid, but that will hold its first regular Assembly in Malaga on the occasion of the 4KHDR Summit.
