Maxon’s Redshift rendering engine now available as a subscription

Visual effects artists and motion designers can switch to Maxon Redshift GPU rendering solution on a subscription basis.

Le Redshift subscription price is comparable to the old annual maintenance cost. To support the switch to this new business model, all customers who want to extend their number of licenses will be able to take advantage of the new pricing on their initial subscription. The sale of perpetual licenses has been discontinued, but existing annual maintenance contracts will remain in place and will be renewable until August 31, 2023. Similarly, team subscriptions are available for an “additional cost”. This type of subscription includes dedicated training and support, as well as online license management and distribution via the Teams control panel. TeamRLM s and floating license models are also available.

The availability of Redshift via subscription comes with Maxon’s commitment to further develop and maintain support for multiple DCC applications and hardware platforms, including Nvidia’s CUDA, Apple Metal et Apple Silicon. Efforts will not stop since, as Maxon states, “Redshift’s functionality and performance is entirely dependent on third-party hardware and software solutions.”
