'El 47' and 'Querer' win the 30th edition of the Forqué Awards

The 30th edition of the Forqué Awards has awarded 'El 47', a film by Marcel Barrena, with the award for Best Fiction Feature Film, while the latest creation by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, 'Querer', has been the winner in the television section with the award for Best Television Series.

The 47, written by its director, Marcel Barrena, along with Alberto Marini, and produced by Grup Mediapro, has won the awards of Best Fiction Feature Film and Cinema and Education in Values. "We all have the right to decent housing, this is what this film is about. It is also about how we receive those who need it most, who are those expelled from their homes and it is a tribute to the richness that this country has with its languages", said its director, co-author of this fiction based on the true story of Manuel Vital, a Barcelona bus driver played by Eduard Fernández who, in 1978, he became a hero by fighting aboard this vehicle to prove that his neighborhood deserved access to a scheduled bus service systematically denied by the City Council.

Black Butterflies (David Baute, Ikiru Films, SL; Tinglado Films, SL; Anangu Group S.L.U.; Corporacio Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals, S.A.) got the Forqué Award for Best Animated Feature Film telling the story of three women from different parts of the planet forced to migrate due to climate change. Marisol, call me Pepa (Blanca Torres, Tu luz y mi calma, SL; Sarao Films, SL; CRTVE) did the same with the Award for Best Documentary narrating the life of the historic singer and actress, and The Great Work (Alex Lora Cerdos, Euphoria Productions; Calabaza Films; Alex Lora PC; Filmakers Monkeys) was awarded as Best Short Film for its narration of a conflict between two families motivated by economic inequality.

In section a Best Latin American Film of the Year was the winner The place of the other (Maite Alberdi, Fabula), a film in which a young secretary tries to solve a mysterious murder case and which is the second consecutive award for Maite Alberdi, awarded last year in the same category for Infinite memory and nominated for the 26th edition by The Mole Agent. In the interpretive categories in cinema, the interpretation of Carolina Yuste in The infiltrator has been awarded the Best Actresswhereas Eduard Fernández has been awarded to Best Male Performance for his role in Frame, marking the second time the actor has won this award after his victory in 2014 with All women.

José Luis Garci, Gold Medal of the Forqué 2024

Enrique Cerezo, president of EGEDA, granted the traditional recognition of the Gold Medal of this 30th edition of the Forqué Awards to the director, producer, screenwriter and disseminator José Luis Garci, an essential figure of cinema who, as Enrique Cerezo himself highlighted, "perfectly embodies the figure of the director-producer", with titles such as k (1979), "The Grandfather" (1998), Sunday Light (2007), You're the one (a story from then) (2000), Story of a kiss (2002), The luminous wound (1997), Lullaby (1994), Continuous session (1984), the trilogy of The crack (1981, 1983, 2019) or Starting over (1982) with which he reflected the climate of change that Spain was going through at the time and won the the first Oscar Award awarded to a Spanish film. Likewise, under his signature there are merits such as the script of The Cabin (Antonio Mercero, 1972), the first Spanish production to win an Emmy Award, producer credits on films such as Long live the middle class (José María González-Sinde, 1980) and projects such as Preserver and disseminator of the Spanish audiovisual heritage and international through books, radio and television.

José Luis Garci wanted to take the opportunity to add some demands to his heartfelt gratitude.
