Panasonic introduces new automatic framing application for PTZ cameras

Panasonic’s new automatic framing application, which will be available in the form of a new plug-in for Media Production Suite and a firmware update for the AW-UE160W/K, will enhance the operation of PTZ cameras to deliver ‘natural’ production suitable for premium broadcast applications.

Panasonic’s new automatic framing solution leverages the company’s extensive experience in broadcast and video production. Available as a paid-for plug-in, the new Advanced Auto Framing in Panasonic’s Media Production Suite enables automatic framing for Panasonic PTZ cameras such as the AW-UE160W/K, AW-UE150W/K, AW-UE100W/K and AW-UE80W/K with the activation of a software key.

The Advanced Auto Framing plug-in and Auto Framing function of the AW-UE160W/K enables professional-grade, high-quality automatic framing in real time, thanks to framing presets that precisely replicate user-defined framing settings. Framing presets can be combined, including group shots with multiple subjects. In addition, advanced human body detection ensures consistent subject clearance.

The Advanced Auto Framing plug-in GUI includes a multi-camera display option for easy management of multiple PTZ cameras. Multiple sources can be monitored and controlled from a single screen to facilitate multi-camera filming even in a small crew environment to ensure high quality content. Additionally, the auto framing application can be used in conjunction with the AW-RP150GJ and AW-RP60GJ remote camera controllers, making it easy to fine-tune the camera angle during auto framing. Also, the synchronisation of camera selection with auto framing in Media Production Suite simplifies switching between auto and manual framing operations.
