EVS proposes more flexibility with new licensing model for XT-VIA
EVS presents a new licensing model for its flagship XT-VIA live production server, which aims to set new standards of flexibility, accessibility and user experience in the broadcast and production sector.
This new approach allows users adjust your production capacity to the evolution of your needs, facilitating channel expansion and server functionality changes without the need to change hardware. In this way, users can expand or reduce their capacity when needed, ensuring optimal resource management and cost-effectiveness.
exist three different modes (Multicam, Spotbox and Sportlight) that adapt to different production needs and guarantee speed and reliability at all times:
- Multicam– Designed for the most demanding live productions, it provides super slow motion replays and fully featured highlights for larger ecosystems with multiple camera sources and complex workflows.
- Spotbox- Ideal for ingest and playback purposes, with reliable recording ports for ingest from multiple live sources, and playback channels for shot-box purposes (also suitable for studio, news/MCR environments).
- Sportlight– Tailored for smaller productions or on a limited budget, it delivers EVS-quality replays and recaps with reduced workloads.
This versatility will be very attractive to live service providers who need adapt quickly to changing customer requirements. Tier 1 providers can seamlessly handle a mix of Tier 1 and 2 live events, while Tier 2 providers can minimize their initial investment but still have access to premium functionality for high-profile events.
Additionally, broadcasters and production facilities that initially only needed servers for standard ingest/playback can effortlessly implement replay capabilities as their productions evolve, maximizing the utility of their hardware investments.
Quentin Grutman, Chief Customer Officer of EVS, explains “our objective with this new licensing model is to offer our clients more flexibility and control over their productions and expenses. We have also prepared for future needs by including options such as OPEX models and on-demand license activations. Ultimately, this means easier access to high-quality production and better value for our customers, allowing them “effectively navigate the demands of today’s competitive marketplace.”
