ARRI develops a new generation of LED Fresnels with the launch of the L-Series Plus

Coinciding with the celebration in Las Vegas of NAB 2024, ARRI presentará una nueva generación de Fresnels LED que promete contar con hasta un 90% más de brillo que la Serie L original y una entrada directa de datos de red; todo, con la intuitiva interfaz de control a bordo conocida de ARRI SkyPanel.

The new one L-Series Plus provides additional benefits while retaining features such as Focusability continues from spot to flood; and soft and homogeneous light field; y complete control over color and the light intensity.

Originally introduced in 2011, ARRI L Series LED luminaires were the first professional alternatives to popular tungsten Fresnels, offering additional LED benefits such as independent control of color temperature and brightness along with instant cost savings thanks to to significant reductions in energy consumption and cooling requirements.

You can also get a precise control of the light field with barndoors and flags, allowing for the shaping and cutting of the beam that lighting designers depend on. Additionally, white light is fully tunable to achieve the best results for different skin tones, camera sensors and mixed light environments, while specific color tones can be matched through full-range color mixing.

The new ARRI L-Series Plus luminaires come in two sizes: the L5-C Plus It has a five-inch lens, while the L7-C Plus It features a seven-inch Fresnel lens. Despite being approximately the same size and weight as their predecessors, L-Series Plus products provide up to 90% more light output, making them much more powerful and versatile as lighting tools (the average output increase, depending on the model, beam angle and color temperature is 60%). Existing barndoors and all other L Series accessories are fully compatible with the new Plus range.

Connectivity

Taking the renowned reference of Fresnel LED luminaires to the next level, the L Plus Series introduces a improved connectivity by implementing network data entry and lighting control through the standards ArtNet y Streaming ACN. Workflows are simplified with the integrated control and user interface of the classic SkyPanel, while light output is specifically calibrated for optimal reproduction on digital cinema and broadcast cameras, ensuring pleasing skin tones and vivid colors.

Designed to be robust and ergonomic, L Plus Series appliances meet the standards of quality and reliability for which ARRI is known. Furthermore, a combination of passively cooled housing and a discreet encapsulated fan ensure the quietest operation in even the most critical environments.

At the heart of the L Series Plus concept remain the fundamental advantages of adjustability, color fidelity, rugged durability and ease of use, now updated with the latest connectivity standards. Three individual knobs allow precise adjustment of brightness, color temperature and green/magenta point, while a focus knob on the side of each luminaire allows smooth adjustment of beam spread, just like conventional sources.
