TV2 Nord will continue using the nxtedition platform until 2029

News production environments based on microservices nxtedition They will continue to be part of the daily life of TV2 Nord (Denmark) thanks to an agreement that extends the strategic partnership between the broadcaster and the technology company, at least until 2029.

The news production team TV2 Nord, which serves the inhabitants of North Jutland on a daily basis, will continue to benefit in the medium term from nxtedition. Designed with an online mentality, the platform allows the generated content to be distributed to different environments: news produced from two automated studies; the 24 hour channel Jump; the website of the corporation, y social networks such as, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly Twitter).

The implementation of nxtedition on TV2 Nord was part of a project to integrate a new study for news and production started in 2021. Adopting this holistic vision allowed the nxtedition system, which runs on COTS hardware, to move to control all studio technology, from the prompters to robotic cameras and lighting, which makes it possible for Danish television to produce its news with a team of only one or two people. Peter Zanchetta, CTO of TV2 Nord, elaborates on this idea: "A fundamental part of our requirements was the need to create and distribute excellent content to multiple platforms with the minimum of resources. Nxtedition fulfilled everything we asked of it, so naturally we are committed to relying on its simplicity and power for the foreseeable future."
