The journalist, sociologist and writer Lorenzo Díaz dies
The journalist, sociologist, founder of the Television Academy and author of some of the most important books on recent media culture on radio and TV in Spain, Lorenzo Díaz, died this Tuesday in Madrid.
Great communicator and renowned author of some of the most important books in recent media culture on radio and television in Spain. In 2017 he received the Extraordinary Talent Award with which the Television Academy highlighted the work and initiative of the first founders of the institution.
Throughout his long career he worked in the major Spanish radio networks: Radio Nacional de España; String SER; Cope; Antena 3 and Onda Cero Radio, in the Herrera en la onda space, morning news magazine from Onda Cero Radio.
Provided advice on communication issues to the television production company Prime Time Communications, by Valerio Lazarov, responsible for series such as Uncle Willy.
Author of two authentic references of recent media culture: Radio in Spain (1923-1997) y Television in Spain (1949-1995), two references of the state of our audiovisual industry. In February 1999 he published the book titled Report on television in Spain: 1989-1998, the decade abominable. He has also published Radio years y Memory and profile of the protagonists of the dial. In January 2005 she published the book The dirty box. Trash TV in Spain. In December 2006 he published 50 years of TVE, a book that details the half-century of life of the public broadcaster, coinciding with its anniversary.
Lorenzo Díaz was awarded two Ondas Awards, three Golden Antennas, the National Gastronomy Award, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce Award and the Award for the best book on communication.
