The Goya 2024 already have their 10 films nominated for Best European Film

The Academy of Dinner confirms the 10 films presented by the academies and selection committees of several European countries to win the Goya 2024 in the category of Best European Film.

United Kingdom has chosen After sun, of Charlotte Wells, and France Anatomy of a fall, of Justine Triet. Greek made Behind The Haystacks, directed by Asimina Proedrou, while Switzerland's bet is Lightning, of Carmen Jaquier.

Also aspiring to the award is the Portuguese film Marco Martins, Great Yarmouth: Provisional Figures; the Italian The eight mountains, co-directed by Charlotte Vandermeersch y Felix Van Groeningen, and the Croatian Safe Place, directed by Juraj Lerotić.

The options are completed with the choice of Germany, Teachers’ Lounge, of Ilker Catak; that of Azerbaijan, Sughra’s Sons, which signs Ilgar Najaf, and that of Luxembourg, The Last Ashes, directed by Loïc Tanson.

In this selection, the same number as last year, the half of the titles are directed or co-directed by women. The winner will be known next February 10, 2024, which is when the winners of the 38th edition of the highest awards in Spanish cinema will be known from Valladolid.
