The Caballero Brothers return with 'Muertos S.L.', a comedy for Movistar Plus+ set in a funeral home
Movistar Plus+ produces in collaboration with Contubernio 'Muertos S.L.', an original of the platform that will tell the day-to-day life of a family funeral home in a comedy tone under the creative and conceptual direction of Alberto and Laura Caballero.
Created by Alberto Caballero, Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor and Daniel Deorador, and directed by Laura Caballero, Muertos S.L. is presented as a Eight-episode sitcom of thirty minutes long that takes place in the day-to-day life of a funeral home. According to the brothers Knight, "We really wanted to talk about this topic, maybe it's the midlife crisis, which already puts you in touch with your own mortality. In addition, we wanted to make a series of work environments, which was one of the few coexistences that we had yet to deal with."
With a script by Alberto Caballero, Daniel Deorador, Julián Sastre and Nando Abad; Photograph by Juan Luis Cabellos; sound of Alberto García, and art direction by Edu Vallejos, Muertos S.L. It's already being shot in Madrid for an estimated time of about eight weeks. Carlos Areces (The People, The One That Is Coming) heads the cast of the series. Ascen López (The Immortal, A Normal World), Salva Reina (If I'd known, Down there), Aitziber Garmendia (The Swarm), Adriana Torrebejano (Christ and King, Without Footprints), Diego Martín (Supernormal, A boyfriend for my wife), Gerard B. This is the synopsis of the series: "When Gonzalo Torregrosa, owner and founder of the Torregrosa Funeral Home, dies, Dámaso Carrillo, his right-hand man in the company, does not doubt that the best thing for the continuity of the business is for him to take over. But, against all odds, Nieves, the septuagenarian widow, decides to take over the family business, helped by her useless and enthusiastic son-in-law, Chemi, an expert in Marketing, and against her daughters' plans to close and set up a gym. While Dámaso conspires and manipulates his colleagues against the new management, the company will face competition, the Transitus funeral home, and its plan to expand its business, and a case #metoo, which will threaten the legacy of Gonzalo Torregrosa.
