LaLiga explores AI applied to sport in collaboration with SportBoost
Meet LaLiga, an initiative of LaLiga y SportBoost, has allowed athletes, club officials and AI experts to share at an event how artificial intelligence can help all the agents that make up this professional football competition.
The day was inaugurated by the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, who has assured that “at LaLiga we have been using AI and technologies of this type for more than 4 years for our benefit. Blackhole, Marauder, Tyche, o Mediacoach "These are some of the applications that we use daily in LaLiga to improve our productivity and results."
During the day, different events took place round tables in which the role of artificial intelligence applied to sports and companies linked to the industry has been analyzed. Likewise, there has been debate about the future of this branch of technology and what will be the benefits and possible risks that we will witness in the coming years. The first of these conferences, called A.I. in sports and presence of athletes in A.I. companies., featured athletes who spoke about the link between elite sport and AI, as well as the challenges and opportunities that this technology offers.
In the second panel, State of the art of AI and future, experts in Artificial Intelligence from national and international companies such as Repsol, Telefónica, OdiseIA or Microsoft, who reviewed the past, current and future challenges of Artificial Intelligence in our country. The last round table of the morning, Use cases for A.I. and opportunities, was starred by LaLiga clubs such as F.C. Barcelona, Sevilla F.C., Deportivo Alavés or Atlético de Madrid, who talked about how AI is gaining weight in the clubs' innovation and technology departments.
With this event, LaLiga and SportBoost seek to position the Artificial intelligence in the sports sector as a differentiating, significant and crucial element for the development of technology in the present and in the future.
Startups with presence at Meet LaLiga
LaLiga y SportBoost They presented the initiative last May Meet LaLiga, a project aimed at startups from around the world that sought to capture technological solutions that operate under generative artificial intelligence (AI) models, that help optimize productivity processes at an individual and collective level, and that contribute to improving the sports industry.
More of 110 startups They entered the contest, coming from 27 different countries, and of them, four initiatives have been winners and they were able to show their projects to those attending the Meet LaLiga event: Loopin, an Indian-American company that offers a comprehensive solution for artificial intelligence-powered meeting summaries and transcriptions; Play HT, from the United States, which explained how it covers text-to-speech conversion, the creation of voice replicas, real-time generation and the production of voices of ultra-realistic quality; Turfcoach, a German company, which has presented its software based on A.I. to optimize natural grass management with a patented sensor that scans the entire playing field, and Botslovers, a Spanish firm that has transferred how it generates virtual assistants based on A.I. for any channel (web, applications, social networks) and language that is developed through its Bot Platform, AI First, No-Code.
