Sapec - Laguna Octal

The UHD compatibility of the Laguna and Sivac-One models, the European premiere of Gredos II, and the first exhibition of the CornerCam system at an in-person event are the main attractions of the presence in IBC 2023 (September 15 – 18) Sapec.

The successful UHD/HD/SD multichannel platform Laguna, standards-compliant HEVC, H.264 y MPEG-2, will present its new license for the first time at IBC 2023 UHD. Thanks to this system, users of the model Quad (LMP4000) will be able to decode one UHD source or four HD sources, while users of Octal (LMP8000) will have the possibility of handling two UHD sources or eight HD sources.

Sapec - Sivac-OneIt is not the only new thing from LagunaSince Sapec has recently enhanced the system with new features such as the display of thumbnails, allowing a mosaic to be displayed of each SDI signal that is processed by the Dual, Quad and Octal models through a web browser; analysis and monitoring functions with ETR 290 specification; or the possibility of using the Laguna as gateways, which implies that, if the system receives an SRT signal, for example, there would be the possibility of forwarding the same signal simultaneously with the decoding of an SMPTE 2022 network and vice versa. .

Another attraction of the Spanish company for IBC 2023 will be the presence of the Sivac-One, equipment that has recently been used for broadcasts through Spanish DTT of the Soccer World Cup in Qatar, the Women's Soccer World Cup and the Women's World Championships. Visitors to the Sapec stand will be able to discover first-hand how this HEVC/H.265 encoding/decoding in real time until 2160p50/60 4K UHD has made these key broadcasts possible for the summer television season.

Both teams will be shown by the usual team of the Spanish firm and by Egor Tyagunov, new sales manager for the EMEA area who has held this position at Sapec for two months.

SAPEC NAB 2023 - Grades IIPremieres: Gredos II and CornerCam

Presented at NAB 2023, Steps II will be presented for the first time at a European fair in IBC 2023. This new HEVC/H.264/MPEG2 family of encoders with integrated Sapec modulator supports up to two video channels (SD/HD) and audio channels simultaneously with MPEG2/AAC/AC-3 compression and, optionally, HEVC, both 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 profiles .

The system has been designed to accommodate two types of modulator: Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) with support for the American standard ATSC, DVB-T/T2 or ISDB-TB, or a satellite modulator (DVB-S/S2/S2x). Precisely, the model that will be present at IBC 2023 can manage up to two multiplexed channels via satellite. The new Gredos II integrate up to two HD-SDI video inputs or one 3G-SDI input, whose signals can be multiplexed to generate an MPTS with both programs, and up to 16 channels of embedded mono audio (8 stereo pairs) in each channel of video. With the ability to configure each program as Digital TV, Digital Radio or 1-Seg (only for the ISDB-Tb option), GREDOS II has RF DTT or Satellite outputs, two IP outputs with SMPTE2022 1/2/7 support with SRT optional, and an ASI option.

Finally, Sapec will show for the first time at a global broadcast event CornerCam, a system patented by the Spanish company The Corner Cam designed to capture even the smallest detail from the corner of a playing field. The solution is composed of a 50 millimeter diameter banner, inside which are integrated two HD cameras with 1080i resolution with remote horizontal movement (PAN) and all the connectivity necessary to operate in a broadcast environment.

This is how you face Miguel Ángel Cristobal, CEO of Sapec, the imminent celebration of IBC 2023: “From the last IBC until today only one year has passed, but it has been a very intense year, full of news and good news for Sapec, so we have decided to “put the icing on the cake” in IBC, where we will take the pulse of a "brave European industry that is no longer afraid to adopt 4K in its daily operations."
