Prism Mobile: Teradek's new 5G backpack debuts at IBC 2023

The solution, present at IBC 2023, has been designed for “global news gathering and live event coverage” in situations where WiFi is not available. The system was born with versatility as a pillar, since the system will allow modems, encoders and power to be exchanged “at will” in order to prepare for any environment and type of coverage.

Other notable features of the Prism Mobile backpack are its ability to upload recordings from the field directly to cloud camera platforms as Frame.io, Sony C3P and Sony Ci, or the ability to monitor and distribute live streams from the platform Core Cloud of Teradek.

Tyler Riddel, Teradek product manager, believes that the new Prism Mobile Backbacks (now available) are the next step in their range of solutions: “Our new Backpacks triple the cellular connectivity of a standard Prism Mobile and, with 5G support, speeds are substantially faster. “We believe it is a solution that will help customers take their productions to the next level.”
