Panasonic's AK-HC3900 studio cameras come to the world ST 2110
The AK-SFC391 activation key, available in the third quarter of this year, will allow the AK-HC3900 studio camera from Panasonic be compatible with ST 2110 IP environments.
Thanks to this paid update, the AK-HC3900 can be connected to broadcast equipment compatible with SMPTE ST 2110 through a fiber optic cable SMPTE o one switch network, which will allow the transmission of uncompressed HD video from the camera and the return of intercom video and audio from the studio sub-facilities to the camera side without the need to use a CCU (camera control unit).
The update will also enable processes such as IP return video (HD), reference signal (PTP), trunk signal output (HD), input prompter y IP intercom audio input/output with the ST 2110. Similarly, the ST 2110 connection will allow the AK-HC3900 HD studio camera to be connected via IP to Kairos, a software-based live video platform that uses video processing technology that uses GPUs to enable high-quality, low-latency video multiplexing.
Panasonic also highlights that the arrival of the AK-HC3900 to the IP ST 2110 world will be positive from the point of view of sustainability, as the camera “can significantly reduce power consumption compared to conventional systems during multi-camera operation by eliminating the need for a CCU through this upgrade.”
