Radio Barbeton equips its broadcast studio with AEQ technology
The South African Radio Barbeton (BCR) installs with the help of the technical services of Buck Broadcast solutions AEQ such as the Forum IP console, a SYSTEL-IP broadcast and multi-conference telephony system, and complete AudioPLUS automation software.
Since its inception, this community station in the province of Mpumalanga has been working alongside the communities it serves to develop, produce and broadcast quality programs that aim to educate and uplift listeners. The station attracts talent from the community and features a wide range of regional and international content with a true local flavor.
In response to its important social work, the South African Media Diversity Development Agency (MDDA) has collaborated with Radio Barberton by providing a complete new broadcast study, for which the technical management of the company has selected, as the heart of the system, the AEQ Forum digital mixer.
This mixing console, designed for the control of on-air emissions, incorporates all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut-off, cough cut-off, faderstart, signaling control, control signals for equipment automation external, management of external communications, intercommunication…
The BCR installation is completed with a broadcast and multi-conference telephone system AEQ SYSTEL-IP, and complete automation software AEQ AudioPLUS. The basic need for automation in radio stations involves managing, scheduling, and storing sound.
AudioPLUS is an advanced automation, management and broadcast system for professional broadcasting, consisting of a set of applications and services that provide the tools necessary to perform any common job at a radio station, as well as a series of storage jobs, audio editing and broadcasting on television stations.
