Filming of the film 'As Neves', Sonia Méndez's debut film, begins
The film As Neves, the debut feature of Vigo actress and director Sonia Méndez, began filming this Monday in Fonsagrada (Lugo). The film, co-produced by Cosmica Productions y Here and There Films, has the support of Television of Galicia.
As Neves is a psychological drama that tells a modern teenage story, set in the countryside. Specifically, it shows how the routine of a group of boys from the town is altered by the disappearance of Paula, who was being harassed by her classmates. Her disappearance coincides with the celebration of Carnival and the arrival of a snow storm that leaves the town isolated.
Sonia Méndez undertakes her first feature film as director after signing titles such as the documentary Luz Fandiño: an illiterate poet (2020); the digital series before losing or short films like Conversation with dead cuna muller (2012) y Café-Bar Santos Perruquería (2015).
In addition to As Neves, TVG has co-produced three other films this year: to vine, by Filmika Galaika, directed by Alberto García, addresses within the film noir genre the chronicle of a Ferrol frozen in time, in a dreamlike and personal way. Fate, an ambitious project from Vaca Films, the first feature film by Juan Galiñanes, with a script by Alberto Marini. It is a thriller built around the three basic pillars of life: health, money and love; and the TV movie My illustrious friend, by Agallas Films, which also had the support of Televisión Canaria and TV3. Directed by the Galician Paula Cons, it delves into the love story of the Countess Emilia Pardo Bazán and the writer Benito Pérez Galdós.
