nWave Pictures and A contracorriente Films join forces to co-produce 'Inseparables'

The tenth feature film from the Belgian animation studio nWave Pictures, Inseparable, will be co-produced by Against the Current Films.

This agreement consolidates the association between two companies that have been collaborating for recent years in various feature films, including the upcoming launch in Spain of the latest nWave production, Hopper, the hare chicken (Chickenhare and the hamster of darkness).

Inseparable, based on an original story by Joel Cohen y Alec Sokolow (Toy Story) and a script Bob Barlen y Cal Brunker (Paw Patrol: The Movie, The Bigfoot Family), is co-produced by Octopolis in France and the main animation has just begun for its theatrical release scheduled for the summer of 2023. The film will follow the misadventures of Don, and runaway puppet with unlimited imagination, and DJ Doggy Dog, an abandoned stuffed animal in need of a friend, whose paths will cross in Central Park and come together against all odds for an epic friendship adventure in New York City.

Matthieu Gondinet, director of operations nWave Pictures, is delighted with this “agreement that renews our association with A contracorriente. “We have collaborated with this trusted Spanish distributor on multiple projects and our teams have developed a strong synergy that we hope to take advantage of.” On the other hand, Eduardo Escudero, business manager of A contracorriente Films, considers it “an honor to participate in this project with this fantastic creative team, in this production that has so many links to our cultural heritage.”
