Viz Vectar Plus continues to exploit the benefits of NDI with its 1.2 release
Vizrt has decided to upgrade Viz Vectar Plus, the Norwegian firm’s leading NDI-based 4K switching solution, to version 1.2.
Since its launch in September 2020, Viz Vectar Plus has sought to establish itself as a new standard for software-based live productions. Recently, the technology has powered innovative live productions in the cloud for Sky Sports Germany, Media.Monks or ATP Media.
Version 1.2 of the Vizrt system increases its audio channels to 44, thus matching the existing NDI input channels. In this way, it can offer, according to Vizrt, “the largest input scale for cloud-ready video channel mixing available on the market”.
Other new features in this version include native support for NDI 5 and NDI Bridge; the inclusion of NDI Genlock, which ensures consistent synchronisation between cameras; Live Call Connect, which allows users to bring in remote collaborators from a wide range of communication applications; Neural Voice Isolation, a tool that uses AI to automatically detect voices and clean up audio; the ability for operators to send Alpha channels through one of the MIX outputs, bringing post-production closer to live; new webcasting features, allowing a choice of connection types, resolutions and providers; and the ability to simultaneously encode a greater number of channels in any format: from HD to UHD.
