Editshare FLEX offers full control over cloud editing and content security

EditShare NAB 2022 will debut its new FLEX cloud solutions with a suite of powerful media asset storage and management software solutions aimed at making the most of cloud services and workflows.

FLEX reflects today's powerful business trends in post-production, including the migration to a "work anywhere" environment, with immediate access to content wherever creative staff need to be.

By embracing cloud storage and processing, it also responds to the evolution towards an OpEx financial model, in which cloud hosting and storage rates are flexed to reflect the level of business.

Stephen Tallamy, CTO of EditShare, highlights that FLEX "is the result of these investments and we are excited to show the industry how it can greatly simplify the way their teams can choose to work."

At the forefront of the new initiatives is FLEX Cloud Edit. In its simplest form, it provides media asset management, high-performance software-defined storage, and virtual workstations in the AWS.

As for FLEX Cloud Edit+ adds accelerated file transfer capabilities using Data Expedition's CloudDat transfer software. It also provides complete management of workstations using the Cloud Access Manager of Teradici, all tightly integrated into an intuitive, single sign-on EditShare environment.

FLEX Cloud Sync provides synchronization of content between on-premises EFS arrays and file storage with major cloud providers. By automating cloud backup, EditShare's FLEX Cloud Sync makes it easy to retire LTO tape libraries and gain the tremendous resiliency and availability offered by leading cloud providers. When needed, a FLEX Cloud Edit system can be launched using the entire contents of a customer's FLEX Cloud Sync backup.
