Secuoya Studios and BTF Media unify their content businesses with Micelio Media Group
Micelio Media Group is born, a new audiovisual brand created from the merger of the content businesses of Secuoya Studios and the Mexican audiovisual production company BTF Media.
This group, which is born from the unification of the content businesses of both brands, will seek to optimize resources by merging different areas. These movements will lead to a own distributor within the company, in charge of representation in the different territories; and the global marketing of catalogs and intellectual property (IP) rights of new projects from Secuoya Studios, BTF Media and the future companies that are integrated into this merger.
At the same time, Micelio Media Group will have a transversal marketing department, which will generate a “robust and differential” brand positioning system; in addition to a área de business affairs, led by experts in audiovisual financing and taxation, with the aim of achieving the highest profitability of productions in different countries. This department will also help structure the financial model of all integrated projects within the new group, incorporating new incubation, acceleration and project financing initiatives.
Likewise, the new audiovisual label will have a section in charge of the unification of management, quality control and budget processes, which seeks to provide a “transparent and global” image to different clients. Also, as it could not be otherwise, a Own licensing, story and formatting department, for its development within the network of companies that make up this new audiovisual ecosystem promoted by Secuoya Studios and BTF Media.
More than 150 formats
As a result of the merger of Secuoya's content businesses Studio and BTF Media, Micelio Media Group projects in the short term a volume of more than 150 formats and audiovisual content, including series, documentaries, entertainment programs and feature films. The growth of the new group also includes the acquisition of intellectual property and joint development work with the most relevant creators in the market for the coming years.
Secuoya Studios y BTF Media will maintain their usual activity and brand in their countries of origin, Spain and Mexico, respectively, while Micelio Media Group It will be the joint structure resulting from the merger in its satellite offices, as well as the one responsible for the development of projects in other territories such as Colombia y USA. Likewise, both companies are in talks with various partners to extend their presence in Latin America.
The announcement, produced within the framework of Iberseries Platinum Industry, has given rise to the first statements by the protagonists of the agreement. Raúl Berdones, president of Secuoya Grupo de Comunicación, highlights the need to “be more united than ever” to “face and develop more powerful, exciting projects with a great connection of creativity and talent between everyone.” On the other hand, Ricardo Coeto y Francisco Cordero, founders of Break The Format, point out that this joint vision of the future of the audiovisual industry “unites us and presents us not only with a panorama where alliances increasingly make sense, but also multiplies our possibilities of being predominant in the creative offer. , in the development and production of content that becomes globally relevant.”
