Telestream acquires Sherpa, a company specializing in live event hosting and distribution
Sherpa Digital Media, a live digital event hosting and distribution company used by Fortune 500 companies, has been acquired by Telestream.
Sherpa has been serving clients for 10 years with its streaming platform. Its live and on-demand event platform allows clients to easily create live events and webinars. Sherpa Digital Media’s solution, among other features, can host meeting rooms, host video, integrate marketing automation tools, stream securely, customize each broadcast, and scale the broadcast to serve up to “hundreds of thousands of viewers.”
Telestream has announced that the Sherpa team, structured around the San Francisco Bay Area, will be fully integrated into the company. As confirmed by Dan Castles, CEO of Telestream, the company will continue the development of the Sherpa Digital Media solution to expand “into new areas.” Castles exemplifies this initiative with Wirecast, a product that can be used to “produce events distributed on the platform”. On the other hand, Mark Strathdee, CEO of Sherpa Digital Media, is “excited” to join Telestream and looks forward to “venture into new markets by leveraging the strength of Wirecast and the rest of the Telestream portfolio of solutions.”
