Gol TV has acquired a suite of live production solutions from Grass Valley, essential for its fleet of mobile units and its recently updated studies.

In a broad million-dollar agreement, the bilingual soccer channel, owned by the Uruguayan multimedia group Tenfield, has chosen Grass Valley cameras, mixers, replay systems, and IP routing and infrastructure (all fully integrated with third-party equipment).

This system upgrade equips Gol TV to strengthen its position in live production for Latin America with future-proof capabilities, including IP y 4K UHD HDR.

Marcelo Craviotto, director of engineering at Gol TV, notes that "the demand for live content is increasing, especially sports content, and the requirements for live productions can be very demanding. Having reliable and agile workflows is essential for the success of our business. We wanted an 'all-in-one' solution to handle everything we needed, and the Grass Valley product portfolio was our best option to achieve this. Grass Valley has also allowed us to increase our mobile and studio productions and ensure that we are ready for IP and 4K UHD”.

“Grass Valley IP infrastructure solutions provide efficient resource management and the scalable capacity we need to deliver compelling service to our customers and viewers,” he adds.

At the center of Gol TV's new studio and mobile production infrastructure are Grass Valley IP solutions, including GV Orbit System Dynamic Orchestration and production mixers IP Kahuna 6400 y 9600. The replay and highlights solution LiveTouch, along with the series of cameras LDX 86N, will allow Gol TV's production team to satisfy fan demand with more angles and ultra-fast replays.

“All-in-one” production

Grass Valley's all-in-one media production platform, GV Stratus, will be in charge of asset management, while the Masterpiece IP Master Control Switcher will allow the team to work in multiple formats, offering flexible audio capabilities, channel branding and multi-channel video program distribution. The video multiscreen HALL CHAP It will guarantee, for its part, the simultaneous decoding of video and audio.

Nahuel Villegas, vice president of the Caribbean and Latin America at Grass Valley, comments that “in response to consumer demand for higher resolution content distributed across more platforms, the migration to IP offers a flexible and future-proof infrastructure that can be quickly adapted as needed.”

"Understanding the needs of our clients, beyond simply their technological needs, is at the core of our values. During our long-standing relationship with Gol TV, we have seen how the media landscape has changed dramatically, and we are delighted to work together once again as they adopt new workflows for the next stage of their growth plans," says Villegas.

Gol TV highlighted the GV I/O as ingest and playout server managed by automation Morpheus, along with the Vega series matrix, which offers superior switching functionality.

Los gateways IQUCP 25 from Grass Valley make it easy to migrate from SDI to IP. Grass Valley's strong commitment to interoperability and turnkey projects ensures that all third-party systems work together to create a complete system that meets all production needs.
