The International University of Valencia and The Core sign an agreement to promote audiovisual training

VIU will endorse The Core programs allowing its students to receive a double degree from both training entities.

The International University of Valencia (VIU) y The Core Entertainment Science School, both institutions of Planet Training and Universities, have announced a collaboration agreement which makes VIU an academic partner of the school specialized in audiovisual content.

In this way, the University will endorse The Core degrees, allowing its students to receive a double degree issued by the two educational institutions. Thus, students will receive added value in their training thanks to the expertise of these entities.

The Entertainment and Media sector is currently one of the most promising, despite the impact of the pandemic. In fact, it is expected to have a global growth of +2.8% annually (CAGR), reaching a global value of $2.5 trillion in 2024.

In Spain, the sector is expected to reach 32,567 million euros in 2024, growing at a rate of +3.3% CAGR, which means, for example, that the production of fiction content will require more than 18,443 professionals each year. A context that demands increasingly specialized profiles and academic training of quality and excellence.

In this sense, The Core, a training school specialized in the content and entertainment industry, offers a unique training approach to the audiovisual and entertainment sector thanks to the development of its activity in the largest European center for audiovisual production, Madrid Content City.

During the signing ceremony of the collaboration agreement, Eva Giner, rector of the International University of Valencia - VIU stated that "at the International University of Valencia we have always had as a fundamental objective that our degrees are fully aligned with the work reality in which our students will work. This agreement with The Core is one more step in that direction thanks to its privileged position within the audiovisual and entertainment sector, a growing industry that generates jobs and development possibilities at a national level. On the other hand, we are very happy to be able to contribute our experience as a consolidated and international online university, becoming academic partners of The Core and endorsing its titles.”

For its part, Mercedes Aguero, dean of The Core, pointed out that "The Core was born with the objective of training the professionals that the entertainment industry needs. The learning model is absolutely practical, through challenges and projects carried out from the perspective of professional reality, in such a way that the student faces real projects, developing their own portfolio that will facilitate entry to companies in this industry that every day needs to attract more and better talent. The alliance with VIU, in addition, provides a perspective of quality and internationality that will give students a great advantage competitive.”

It is about the first initiative within a broad framework of collaboration between the International University of Valencia and The Core, which aims to develop projects and common spaces that result in the improvement, growth and progress of students.

Likewise, the establishment of this cooperation environment is part of the purpose of the International University of Valencia (VIU) to bring the academic content of its programs closer to the reality of the world of work, aligning what is learned with daily professional practice and providing its students with knowledge, tools and skills that allow them to stand out and differentiate themselves in highly competitive environments. The agreement established with The Core allows VIU to establish a direct relationship with the largest European center for audiovisual production, obtaining a unique insight into one of the sectors with the greatest growth projection in the current economy.
